Southern Provincial CouncilIn accordance with the policy of developing powers of the Government of Sri Lanka the Southern Provincial Council was one of the 8 Provincial Councils of Island that was established in terms of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the provisions of the Provincial Councils Act No. 42 of 1987.
